The name of the photographer, Chris Pegman, who took the spectacular night-sky image on page 1 and 3 in last Friday's Advocate was inadvertently removed in the subediting process. Pegman, an astrophotographer and osteopath based in Kerikeri, took the photo of the Milky Way from the end of Omapere wharf in 2016 using a Canon 6D and a Samyang 24mm lens. It combines 34 separate images shot at f/2.8 and ISO 6400 with exposures ranging from 1.3 to 20 seconds. The Advocate apologises for the error.
Northland's many thousands of volunteers will be celebrated during National Volunteer Week in June.
The week celebrates the collective contribution of the 1.2 million volunteers who give their time to help others in the country.
National Volunteer Week 2019 runs from June 16-22. This year's theme is "Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together". Volunteering, Mahi Aroha and social action weave people and communities together.

Share a meal
Northland's Muslim community is inviting the public to shared meal and a friendly chat during a potluck picnic at Mair Park in Whangārei this weekend.
The event will also feature music and will run from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday.
People are being urged to bring something to sit on and if possible, extra food they could offer to someone else.
Organisers say the gathering will be an opportunity for local people to meet, share food and stories and to build relationship with other multi-ethnic communities in Northland.
The planned picnic follows a successful open day the Northland Muslim Community Charitable Trust organised at the Islamic Centre in Whangārei about two weeks ago. If it rains on Sunday, the picnic will be postponed until April 28.
Call Carol Peters on 021 557 498 if someone is unsure of the arrangements.
