Congratulations to Bay of Islands College - Kade Maioha and Tane Sigley who won the Boys Pairs at the Northland Secondary Schools tournament played at Kamo last week. Second were Whangarei Boys' High School No 4 - Caden DeZwart and Heath Grant.

In the girls' section the tournament was won by Excellere College's Tallulah Martyn and Estelle Cullen with Whangarei Girls' High School Green - Alex Weir and Nellie Clarke - second. A great day's play from all 22 pairs who took part.

The Northland Umpires Association Any Combination Triples fundraiser is at the Onerahi greens next Tuesday. Entries are still available, please contact Bruce Scott on 435 2512.

Bowls New Zealand has added a new event to the calendar for 2020, namely, a NZ Masters
Tournament to be played at North Harbour from February 17-21.

Players will be divided into divisions starting from the age of 50 and going through to over 80s. You can check it out on the Bowls NZ website.

Northland Coaching Association are holding their annual fundraising tournament - AC Bonus Fours - at Kensington on Tuesday April 30. Entries to Sue Wightman on 09 431 4795 please.

Tournaments for this coming week are: Tuesday 16 - Umpires Tournament AC
Triples; Wednesday17 Maungaturoto AC Triples. Easter tournaments will
include Sunday 21 - Kensington AC Triples; Monday 22 - Dargaville Easter
AC Triples.

This weekend sees the first of the Champion of Champion events being played. Clubs entered and venues are as follows:

Saturday at Whangarei - Men's Fours - Dargaville and Hikurangi byes; Kamo, Kensington, Ngunguru, Waipu, Whangarei, Arapohue, Leigh, Mangawhai, Maungatapere, Maungaturoto, One Tree Point, Onerahi.

Saturday At Kamo - Women's Fours - Onerahi and Kamo byes; Kensington, Mangawhai, One Tree Point, Waipu.

Play starts at 8.45am. Those with a bye report at 10.15am.

Sunday at Dargaville - Men's Singles - One Tree Point and Onerahi byes; Waipu, Ruawai, Arapohue, Hikurangi, Maungaturoto, Whangarei, Leigh, Dargaville, Mangawhai, Kamo, Kensington, Maungatapere.
