Recognise these pants?

Police are hoping a distinctive pair of pants will help them solve a armed robbery. About 8.15pm on Monday two men, armed with a long-barrelled rifle and a large machete, entered the Okaihau Liquor Centre on State Highway 1. The shopkeepers fled to a safe room while the offenders stole alcohol, cigarettes and cash before driving off towards Lake Rd in a dark-coloured four-wheel-drive. Detective Constable David Brothers said the offenders covered their faces but he hoped someone would recognise their clothing from the CCTV images. In particular one offender was wearing very baggy orange-brown trousers, possibly overalls, which he had rolled up during the robbery.

As he was running out the door his hood fell down, revealing short and neatly cut dark hair. Anyone who recognised the men or their clothing can call Brothers at the Kaikohe station on (09) 405 2960 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. The victims were badly shaken by the ordeal.
