Hundreds of quilts will be displayed in Whangarei this weekend at the Quilt and Textile Art Extravaganza.
Hosted by the Whangarei Patchworkers and Quilters Club, the biennial event will be held at Forum North today, tomorrowand Sunday.
The club was founded by a group of enthusiastic like-minded patchworkers in 1987, and now has a strong membership of 120 including eight life members and several members who are recognised nationally and internationally for their expertise.
The extravaganza, which is an opportunity to socialise and stitch, comes just months before the club's 31st birthday in September.
The event will host a raffle of three fabulous quilts, made by members and professionally quilted, with proceeds to charity.
