Sam Murphy (34), Neal Parlane (25) and Kidd (25) all chipped in at the top of the order as Maungakaramea looked steady with bat in hand.
However, the combination of Matt Taylor and Kyran Dill brought Kaipara Flats back into the game with some quick wickets.
Taylor grabbed four inexpensive wickets (4 for 23) in his 13 overs while Dill grabbed 3 for 58, including the final scalp, to dismiss Maungakaramea for 120 and secure the innings and 16 run result.
Meanwhile Whangarei Boys' High School capped off an impressive contest against Kamo with a 10-wicket win.
Kamo resumed day two on 20 for 1, 96 runs in arrears of WBHS, and lost a pair of wickets shortly after the resumption off the bowling of Sam Sweeney (4 for 45).
Kamo's middle order batted compactly, with Lakhvir Singh (31) and Ben Hyde (24) scoring valuable runs.
However, the bowling of WBHS stopped them building a big lead, with Sweeney and Caleb Boswell-Smith (3 for 36) combining to help dismiss Kamo for 138.
This left WBHS a target of 22 for victory which they knocked off inside four overs.
In the final game of the round, Onerahi Central picked up first innings points but were unable to secure the outright win over a dogged Duracrete Products City side.
Onerahi Central added just nine runs to their total from last week as they were dismissed for 221.
This gave them a lead of 82 and a great opportunity to keep pace with the competition leaders.
But City, in need of a result, fought hard with the bat.
After an early setback, Chamodh Peiris (25) and Quinn Pooley (31) put on 60 for the second wicket.
Onerahi removed both batsman within an over of each other but they couldn't grab regular wickets.
Stacy Hyndman (42) and Harry Darkins (54 not out) put on 53 for the fifth wicket before an unbeaten 68-run stand between Darkins and Matt Lobb (29 not out) pulled City to safety.
City ended the day on 208 for 5.
