Whangarei central city street re-opens

Police have taken down cordons in central Whangarei after an incident which closed a street for more than two hours.

Officers were called to Walton St about 12.30pm today near the five-finger roundabout.

While police dealt with the incident traffic started to back up on roads leading to the roundabout.

A person was taken from the scene and the cordons were cleared at 2pm.
