An unprecedented run of success in selling winning Lotto second division winning tickets has a Whangarei store on tenterhooks expecting an even bigger win soon.

Corner Cardz N Magz in Maunu Rd has sold three second division winners in the past eight weeks, including two within five days.

The store was one of two that sold tickets that won $62,082 each in Wednesday night's draw, which followed a $13,001 winner from last Saturday's draw.

Owner Bobbi-Jo Crane said these followed a $29,688 second division winning ticket sold in June.

Ms Crane said the run was unprecedented for the store, which has also sold 10 first division winning tickets over the years.

"The first two (second division winners) were regular customers so we're hoping that Wednesday's one was too. We've got a loyal bunch of regulars so it would be neat if it was one of them," she sad.

"Three winners in that time is pretty special, but we're hoping now that a really big prize is won soon after all that success."

A Lotto spokeswoman said the $62,082 winner was claimed on Thursday.

She said while the wins were unprecedented for Corner Cardz N Mags, it is not unheard of for a Lotto outlet to sell more than one major prize-winning ticket in a short period of time.

"South Dunedin Night N Day sold a Powerball first division winning ticket for last Saturday's draw, and that was the third first division winning ticket they have sold in the past four months. Also, in August 2013, two Lotto first division winning tickets in the same draw were sold at Bethlehem Four Square and Lotto in Tauranga to two different winners."
