Speed is believed to have been a factor after a fully-laden logging truck's trailer tipped this afternoon, closing one lane of Whangarei's Otaika Valley Rd.
Northland police's commercial vehicle investigation unit went to the scene after the truck rounded a corner and its trailer tipped, spilling logs on the roadsideabout 2.30pm.
The truck was the only vehicle in the immediate area at the time and the driver was uninjured.
The truck was headed towards State Highway 1 and was about 4 kilometres from the intersection when the accident happened.
The road has now been reopened. The accident caused minimal delays.
