Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia fly directly to Apia, while Fiji Airways has flights via Nadi.
One-way adult airfares are between $673 to nearly $1000 on game day.
Mr Sasagi, the Samoan Northland Community vice president, said with the exorbitant fares, a lack of accommodation and scarce match passes, it was not worth the risk or cost.
"The last time I checked, which was about two weeks ago, I got a package of $5075 or a one-way ticket for $1500. I thought about a longer holiday in Samoa and to return when the fares come down.
"I could fly to Hawaii, then back to American Samoa and catch a connecting flight to Apia but that would be too much travelling for me," Mr Sasagi said.
"It's the first time the All Blacks are playing on our home soil and it's an occasion I feel I should be a part of but, unfortunately, some factors are preventing me from going. But my heart is there."
On the match, Mr Sasagi said home support, scorching weather, and the fact most Samoan players plied their trade overseas - playing internationally - should play into the hosts' hands.
Another local Samoan who is looking forward to the match is Momoemausu Ioelu who has taken tomorrow off work. "I am really excited. I wanted to go and watch the game live but it's too late now and the airfares are expensive. My mum, brother and sisters in Samoa are all going to the ground."
"We here in Otangarei will have a gathering at a friend's place and watch the game on Sky ... and have some Samoan food as well."
His prediction? "Score 19-25. Samoa will win," said the father of three with a chuckle.
