Northland Youth Theatre's popular epic show from last summer Odyssey will be transported and reinvented as part of a street theatre performance in Auckland.
Today is the last-chance to see the tweaks the team at NYT have made to take the show on the road to Auckland's The Edge Unwrapping Christmas festival in Aotea Square.
A cast and crew of around 15 will travel to Auckland to perform the original show in Aotea Square alongside other theatre productions, music, and dance acts on Friday and Saturday.
Tonight's shows will be a chance for the theatre group to fundraise to get the crew, cast and props, including the skeleton ship on wheels, down to Auckland.
Next year's summer show is in preparations, and will be a blend of Whangarei's history and the tale of The Pied Piper of Hamlin. Writers and directors won't be drawn on details at this stage, but rehearsals have begun in the old recycling station at Pohe Island.
