Police are seeking information after a masked man robbed a service station in Whangarei.

Police are seeking information after a masked man robbed a service station in Whangarei.

Police are hunting for a man masked with a handkerchief who robbed a Whangarei service station.

He entered the Mobil Service Station on Walton St about 9pm on September 26, confronted the attendant and demanded cash.

The offender did not present any weapon or threaten the attendant, but when he demanded cash he put his hand in his pocket intimating that he had some form of weapon. The attendant handed over some money and the man left.

He is described as Maori, about 1.75m tall. He was wearing a denim jacket with light grey sweatshirt sleeves and a hood, light blue chino-style track pants with a white draw cord, grey socks and had a white cloth handkerchief over his face.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Constable Marion Evans on 021 191 5922 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
