Kaitaia police are still seeking the public's assistance for any sightings of missing Ahipara man Leon Meyer.
Mr Meyer, 62, was last seen in the Shipwreck Bay area on March 10. His vehicle, a distinctive black two-door Daihatsu Rocky, SUV with red and white design on the driver's door wasfound in Shipwreck Bay the next day.
Mr Meyer was last seen wearing black jeans, John Bull work boots and a polo shirt. His bank accounts have not been touched and his family and police have grave concerns for his welfare.
Police have an unconfirmed sighting of Mr Meyer between 4.30pm and 5pm on Friday, March 10, on a sandy area just around the reef at Shipwreck Bay.
A local farmer said he spoke to an unidentified male driving a "tidy" silver four-door flat-deck 2000s model Hilux with sides, who stated he had seen a person matching Mr Meyer's description.
