Fifteen groups and organisations have been allocated a total of $50,000 by Whangarei District Council.

The About Time Project received $8000 to complete the Town Basin ball clock sculpture, conditional on more information being provided. The Waipu Caledonian Society and Volunteering Whangarei received grants of $5000 each. The Whangarei Youth Space (WYS) Trust band was granted $4000, as was The Onerahi Resource Centre Trust, for the Waitangi Hangi Fiesta.

Community guided snorkel days, run by the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust, received a grant of $3500 for five events. Christmas parades in Hikurangi, Kamo, Onerahi and Waipu were allocated $3000 each. The International Children's Day event and International Day of Families event received $2500 and $2000 respectively.

The Discover Whangarei Heads Tourism Group and the Sustainable Living Festival each received $1500, and Age Concern Whangarei received $1000, conditional on more information being received.
