The sun is starting to heat up and long days spent at the beach and by the pool are just around the corner. Regardless of your body shape, wearing a swimsuit for the first time, come summer, can be an intimidating and daunting experience. But swimsuits are no longer made like they used to be, and you don't have to be a supermodel to look fabulous. Choose the right swimsuit for your body shape and you will be able to accentuate all your assets and hide any areas that you're not so confident about.
Take your time
Rushing out to by a swimsuit on the same day you are supposed to be lying on the beach can end only in disaster. When you put pressure on yourself to find the perfect garment, and devoid yourself of precious time to contemplate your decision and get a valuable second opinion, you will, nine times out of 10, regret the spontaneous purchase further down the track. Shopping for a swimsuit should not be a rushed process. A yellow polka-dot bikini is not going to look amazing on all of us, so take time to try on different styles, cuts, colours and prints to work out what works for your body shape.
Flatter your figure
What looks good on your best friend is not going to necessarily look the same on you, so invest some serious thought into your body shape. If you are top heavy, swimwear with underwire will flatter your bustline. Embellished bikini tops are very on-trend this season and will complement smaller busts perfectly. Think about colour, too - if you are after something slimming then opt for darker colours. If you find yourself completely lost amongst racks of options in the swimwear department, no body shape can go past a classic, chic, black number. When it comes to prints, slimmer figures can get creative with bold designs. Be wary of the fact that large prints can make your frame look larger.
Techno chic
If you're already a fan of figure slimming underwear then it won't take long to convince you the same technology in swimwear is a must-have for summer. We are in love with Nancy Ganz swimwear. Their collection makes sculpting your silhouette - and accentuating your feminine figure - incredibly easy. Pick the right piece for your body shape and you can emphasise all the right curves and hide areas you'd rather keep covered. Remember, shopping for swimwear should be an enjoyable experience and if you follow these tips and put some thought into the outcome you'd like from your shopping trip then you should find the perfect piece for all those lazy summer days spent on the beach.
