You may have every excuse for not getting on the treadmill, joining a sports team or putting on the sneakers and going for a run.
But there's no excuse for not getting in on the trend for sportswear this season.
It doesn't matter when you last stepped foot on a field, pitch
or court - this summer you can wear versions of your sporty gear to end-of-week drinks, a weekend lunch or the office.
The trick is to make your lazy slacks look modern.
Take trackpants for example. The pair you wear on a Friday night of watching telly on the couch aren't the type of sportswear we're talking about. But trackpants that are tailored and paired with heels are.
As are crew neck sweaters, preferably in grey marl, retro tennis attire like polo shirts and dance-inspired bodysuits and cardigans.
Designer Alexander Wang got the ball rolling when it was America's turn to show what was fashionable for spring 2010.
Wang sent models down the runway wearing high-waisted trackpants, one-shouldered sports bras and padded shouldered tops.
Inspired by "the deviant side of American teen culture", the Wang collection looked like a mash-up of uniforms from America's favourite sports - football and baseball - with some soccer-length socks finishing off the looks.
The macho sports aren't the only ones called upon by the sporty look though.
Dance lends as much inspiration with cropped tees like those from Cybele an important part of pulling off the casual look.
For inspiration from Kiwi designers in on the trend look to Karen Walker's Salzburg collection for hoodies and crews, Lonely Hearts for a collection of pieces that can look tennis in some parts and golf in others, and Salasai for shorty trackpants.
You won't go wrong with pieces from the adidas by Stella McCartney collection either.
They key is to strike the balance between looking sloppy and too over-the-top glamorous - so trackies with bedazzled wording across the backside are not allowed.
Accessorise the look with hair in a top bun or relaxed side pony, or wear it out with a thin sweatband.
