Looking for some helpful advice on what to have in your wardrobe?
Most of us have made a poor choice or three when clothes shopping - you know the ones, now hidden in the back of the wardrobe or secreted off to family, friends or charity.
Help is on the way. A
Maungaturoto woman, inspired and entertained by two "style doctors", has organised a community Fashion A&E evening.
Patrons at Maungaturoto Country Club on Friday, May 27, will be guided and entertained by personal stylists Trudy and Alison. The fashion consultants and long-time friends set up Fashion A&E in Auckland five years ago to inspire and motivate people to celebrate the body they have, to select colours that suit their skin tones and styles that suit their body shape.
"We put our hearts and souls into giving our clients what they need and making sure they are happy," says Trudy. "It gives us the greatest satisfaction to 'wow' people. Sometimes this can just be about a self-esteem boost, and sometimes it can be a whole new look."
"We are down-to-earth girls," says Alison. "We're mums and businesswomen. We pride ourselves on our image and service. And although our business is a serious one, we like to have a lot of fun doing it."
After attending a Fashion A&E event last year, Jodi Hawken says she is now much more confident about her wardrobe.
"I came home and sorted out my wardrobe. Now when I'm shopping, I don't waste money and time looking at, trying on or buying clothes that don't suit me."
Jodi says guests will spend their evening laughing and learning.
The club's café and bar will open at 6pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are $15 from Fergus Electrical in Maungaturoto, Le'Art de Beauty in Paparoa and Buy the Way in Kaiwaka.
