Keeping focused on fashion in summer isn't easy when you're a Kiwi girl.
We may dream of summer frocks to come all winter, but as soon as the good weather arrives in spring, out come the photos and footage from Fashion Week - a look ahead to autumn style.
How are we
to concentrate after that?
Add in the arrival of catalogues showing off new autumn pieces and you could find yourself in the same state of mind as me.
You want to appreciate the sunshine and not haul yourself into tights and boots, but ... that tight-and-boot combination in the latest catalogue looks cute, right?
Perhaps it's a good thing we have so long to think about our winter wardrobes, because the cold months have to be the trickiest to dress for - especially after getting into the habit of throwing together mix-and-match dresses, cardies and sandals in the rush to get out the door.
Trends to keep an eye out for are capes, cute animal logos - as seen in the Ruby and Trelise Cooper collections - dotty prints, like those from Juliette Hogan and twenty-seven names, and trench coats.
With La Nina raining down on our summer, it's not too early to start hunting for your perfect takes on them.
