What would Christmas be without a Christmas album? This year some New Zealand favourites including Bic and Boh Runga, Anika Moa, Tiki Taane, Ruby Frost and Greg Johnson have banded together to raise money for the Starship Foundation with The Christmas Album 2013. Last year'sdebut compilation, of international and local artists on The Christmas Album 2012 raised $251,000 for the Starship Foundation. Maybe the world doesn't need a bunch of Canterbury footballers singing a Kiwi-fied Winter Wonderland but it's worth a laugh and there's plenty else here to check out, like the Phoenix Foundation's God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman and Sol3 Mio singing Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas. A mix of rock revisions and more traditional carols, it's well worth a listen.
