Kiwi music legend Dave Dobbyn is promising to bring a slice of heaven to Northland this Labour weekend when he headlines the It! Bay of Islands Food and Wine Festival.
The October 26 event on Paihia's Village Green will also feature 14-year-old singer/songwriter Guy Yarrall, the Russell Ukulele Band and
Inertia.
Now in its fourth year, the family-friendly festival is a showcase for Northland's best wine and food, ranging from the Duke of Marlborough's whitebait fritters to Hughie Blues' pita pockets. Monteiths will be on tap for those who prefer beer.
The festival also features cooking demonstrations and quirky competitions in kina eating, oyster shucking and pie eating. A kids' zone will offer entertainment geared at children.
Previous headline acts were Dragon, The Feelers and The Jordan Luck Band. Dave Dobbyn was just last week inducted in the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.
