Yogi Bear
(G), 95 minutes, 3.5/5
I'm smarter than the average bear! It was like I was a kid again.
Okay, so Yogi Bear is designed for another generation of children to enjoy but judging by the number of 40-something-year-old adults watching and chuckling with their children, it was also a trip down memory lane for many.
Yogi Bear was one of those loveable, harmless characters us oldies enjoyed as children. He certainly got up to his share of mischief but it was all in good fun.
The latest Yogi Bear (voice of Dan Aykroyd) is every bit as troublesome as the original for Jellystone Park's Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh).
Yogi's mission in life is still to steal as many picnic baskets as his stomach can take from unsuspecting park visitors, with the help of his faithful sidekick Boo Boo (Justin Timberlake).
Ranger Smith thinks Yogi is his greatest problem until Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) decides to get involved in the future of the park.
Needing a little more money from the cash-strapped city the mayor decides that Jellystone would be much more useful as a forestry reserve than a community facility.
When Yogi manages to spectacularly sabotage the ranger's bold rescue plan, the future looks grim.
Yogi knows he's been a bad bear and is determined to set things right, so with the help of the ranger and his new love interest Rachel (Anna Faris) they hatch a cunning plan.
A new generation of fans are going to love the antics of Yogi Bear. The animated Yogi in 3D with real life people makes for a fun-filled adventure.
