If you like your animals bright, animated and full of fun, come to Rio.
From the makers of Ice Age, Rio is the story of two blue macaws who must save their species.
The problem is that one - Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) - is totally domesticated, can't fly and is completely pampered
by his owner Linda (Leslie Mann) in Moose Lake, Minnesota.
Blu is the child Linda never had and they are inseparable.
When Dr Barbosa arrives from Rio seeking to mate Rio with the last female blue macaw, Linda is apprehensive.
Convinced of the need to save the species, they head for Rio and the world's biggest party, Carnival.
When Blu and the fiercely independent Jewel (Anne Hathaway) meet, Blu is terrified.
But if Blu is going to survive after smugglers snatch the pair, he must rely on the wily Jewel and some new-found local friends.
It is here that the adventure begins as the flightless Blu must learn how to be a real bird and fly.
Their adventures take us all over Rio in a spectacular and fun animated travelogue.
Blu and Jewel must outsmart the bungling smugglers if they want to ensure their freedom - and if Blu ever wants to see Linda again.
Rio is good family fun. It is light, bright and fluffy - and that's just what youngsters want to see.
