Brodie Record, 10, and 11-year-old Samyah Powell were part of the Auckland-based Bubblegum crew which recently won back-to-back gold awards in the junior division at the 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championships held in Las Vegas, US.
Brodie's mother Rochelle told the Advocatethe girls had trained for up to 12 hours a day to prepare for the international competition.
Bubblegum's two-minute winning routine was choreographed by Parris Goebel, who has helped choreograph for Jennifer Lopez and recently appeared in the singer's music video Goin' In.
