Unstoppable is not exactly the first train movie to hit the big screen.
There have been plenty before it and you might think this is just more of the same.
But you'd be wrong. Unstoppable is a gripping story brought to life by the abundant talents of Denzel
Washington, who plays Frank, a 28-year veteran train driver.
Frank has seen and done it all, and knows a train inside and out.
His advancing years means his future on the railway is uncertain.
What Frank has never had to cope with is trying to stop a heavily-laden train travelling at high speed - with no driver.
A couple of young clowns in the marshalling area tried to be a bit cute in moving the train and the consequences are now huge.
This train, with six carriages of inflammable and toxic chemicals, is headed for a big town and certain derailment on a tricky inner-city corner.
Efforts to try to stop the train have failed miserably and only Frank has the knowledge and experience to pull off the impossible - or so they hope.
Along for the ride is rookie Will Colson (Chris Pine), who is dealing with some of his own heavy personal problems but must put them aside to help Frank do the impossible.
This is a great action film with a storyline plausible enough to keep you gripped to the edge of your seat.
You can't help but cheer on the heroes as they try to slow down the juggernaut.
