The Concert
(M) Roadshow
Andrei Simoniovich Filipov is an incredibly talented conductor who is a broken man.
Once the leader of the famed Bolshoi orchestra, Filipov is now merely a cleaner because he dared to hire Jewish musicians for his orchestra.
Sacked and humiliated for his actions, he longs to return to the glory
days of making beautiful music.
When he stumbles across a request from the Chatelet Theatre in Paris for the Bolshoi orchestra to play there, Filipov decides to risk all by intercepting the message and agreeing to play with his old orchestra.
He wants just one more moment of magic.
But if he wants to pull this off, he has to keep the news from the real Bolshoi orchestra while organising and co-ordinating his rag-tag bunch of musicians into the orchestra they once were.
To complete his dream concert, Filipov requests that Anne-Marie Jacquet, a young virtuoso, be the violin soloist for the concert.
Anne-Marie occupies a secret place in his heart and he must decide how much she knows about him and her background.
Subtitled from the French, The Concert is a heart-warming story of one man's wish to live out his dream.
