Hot Tub Time Machine
(R16), Roadshow Entertainment
Don't we all wish we could go back in time and right one of those disastrous moments that helped shape our lives? Reality doesn't allow that ... but it does if you have a special hot tub to help you out.
It is not as if Adam (John Cusack), Nick (Craig Robinson), Lou (Rob Corddry) and Adam's nephew Jacob (Clark Duke) were seeking out time travel, although their mostly pathetic lives certainly could use some redirection.
With Lou at just about his lowest ebb, Adam and Nick plan a return to the ski lodge where they all partied hard as twentysomethings. Back then, everything was carefree and the future held promise for them.
Finding the old lodge is one thing - until the guys realised that they have changed for the worse since those good old days.
Drowning their sorrows in the hot tub, the friends find themselves taken back in time to those exciting days gone by.
Here's their chance to enjoy a new start but at their peril - if they change the past they may never be able to return to the present.
On the surface, Hot Tub Time Machine is, at times, a raunchy, farcical comedy. But dig a bit deeper and you find men who want another chance to not screw up their lives and right the wrongs of their past.
