Glee - The Complete Series One
(G), Roadshow Entertainment
Calling all gleeks - your time has come.
The release of the complete series one (shown over two seasons in New Zealand) will have the many fans reliving every moment.
Glee has proven to be a surprisingly huge worldwide success and Kiwi fans eagerly
await the next series
Such is the standing and popularity of the hourly episodes, big musical stars have been queuing up to have their music featured alongside the established Glee stars such as Rachel (Lea Michele), Finn (Cory Monteith), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Quinn (Dianna Agron), Sue (Jane Lynch) and Will (Matthew Morrison).
In series one, Madonna, Lady Gaga, KISS and Olivia Newton-John were among the featured stars and Britney Spears and Sir Elton John are being lined up for the next series, amongst others.
Glee is not based on a complicated formula - it revolves around McKinley High's Glee Club and teacher Will Schuester's efforts to mould an extravagant bunch of kids into a cohesive unit.
Along the way the students and school tackle many sensitive issues like homosexuality, adoption, infidelity and teenage pregnancy.
But what stands out most clearly is the outstanding music that is the cornerstone of the show.
The young stars are phenomenally talented and their musical numbers are mostly stunning.
Glee - The Complete Series One delivers hours of wonderful entertainment.
