Dargaville's upcoming community day is sure to have something to attract everyone - sport, novelty events, a variety of stalls and a chance to enjoy the fun with well-known children's entertainment group The Polka Dots.
To be held in Riverside Taha Awa Gardens and Boating Club on March 2, the
event will also include the popular raft races and waka ama.
The Community Sports Expo Day, now in its third year, is spearheaded by Kaipara District Council, Sport Northland and Strategies with Kids, Information for Parents (SKIP) with the goal of a creating a family day which brings the community together and showcases the groups and people that help it function.
Local SKIP co-ordinator Yvette Gilchrist is rapt to have the Polka Dots saying the one-hour show (at 1pm) will "wow the littlies".
The popular group has just completed its first national tour. Writing their own material, Polka Dots use song, dance and entertainment to provide enjoyable educational programmes for the younger set.
