An Israeli couple going for "unique, creative and totally new" with the naming of their third child certainly achieved it when they chose the name Like.
The Facebook-inspired name was just the "short and sweet" name they were looking for, Like's mum said. Like has two sisters with almost as unusual
names - Dvash, which is Hebrew for honey, and Pie. Not surprisingly Like also has her own Facebook page already.
Short and tweet
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Charlie Sheen, you've been warned. A new survey has found that celebrities who bombard fans with Twitter updates are likely to have shorter careers than those who keep things private. "In this social media age, it's all too easy to follow your musical icons on a minute-by-minute basis. There's a consensus within the industry that this ease of access is leading to artists losing appeal more quickly," the Phoenix IV report said.
Zippy little number
Motors inside each wheel are helping a Japanese electric car go the distance.
Its developers say it can travel 300km before its battery runs flat and hopes to take it to market by 2013.
The car has motors inside each wheel and a super-light frame, allowing for 333km (207 miles) of motoring on one charge in a test.
Electric cars still face problems when it comes to the cost of batteries and the lack of recharging points.
Birds app a cash cow
Every day the world spends 200 million minutes slingshotting birds at pigs.
But the man responsible for creating the addictive Angry Birds game, Mikael Hed, reckons it's great. "Think of all the other stuff they could be doing that's so much more boring," Head says. "Much of those 200 million minutes comes from this type of micro spare time, filling the little gaps."
Angry Birds, a downloadable app, has just passed 200 million downloads.
The next step is building characters around the birds and fleshing out the story with the view of having Angry Bird movies.
Hed says the company has had takeover approaches but has so far resisted. "We're having too much fun to be a part of something bigger. That said, people do crazy things when presented with obscene amounts of money."
