It's good news for those who haven't got round to buying a Wii, and bad news for those who have, Nintendo is reducing the price of the once-revolutionary consoles.
The first Wiis were produced in 2006 but Nintendo is preparing to drop the much anticipated second version. The consoles will also
reportedly be bundled with Mario Kart game software and a steering wheel. The new version is to be showcased in Los Angeles in June.
Lost and found
And the sweetheart award goes to ... a random American woman reuniting victims of the recent deadly tornadoes with their lost photographs.
The woman is using Facebook to upload photos and documents that the winds picked up and deposited kilometres away. The site is also reuniting Americans with their lost diplomas, letters and cards. The page, "Pictures and documents found after the April 27, 2011 tornadoes," has been "liked" by almost 50,000 people. Tthe page's creator revealed it was an ultrasound picture found outside her house that tugged at her heart strings and prompted her to start the page.
Er, ta, only five right?
And the Webby Award goes to ... Angry Birds.
The downloadable mobile phone game was named the best at the 15th Annual Webby Awards in New York.
It won the categories for Best Mobile Game plus the People's Voice award. Comedy website Funny or Die scooped up eight awards. Former "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow picked up a Webby for "Web Therapy."
Webby Award winners will be honoured at a ceremony in New York on June 13, where they will be allowed to deliver speeches of five words or less.
Osama tweet surge
The death of Osama bin Laden has seen Twitter break a new record. Tweets after Obama announced the death hit 5000 "tweets-per-second" at times during a surge that lasted slightly more than four hours.
"Last night saw the highest sustained rate of Tweets ever," Twitter said. Twitter activity after Bin Laden's death was even higher than during the royal wedding.
The action wasn't just on Twitter though, with Facebookers also getting in with 400,000 clicking "like" on the "Osama bin Laden is dead" page on Facebook.
