A Hawke's Bay sauvignon blanc packaged under a nifty crown seal (think "beer-bottle cap") has just scooped a gold medal at the Best Design Awards.
&Co (pronounced "and co") is the brainchild of design and wine aficionados Greg Collinge and Gabrielle Simmers, who also operate the Esther Diamond range of soft
furnishings and the Millar Rd and Esther's Place luxury retreats and whose interiors showcase top Kiwi contemporary artworks.
An initiative of The Designer's Institute of New Zealand, the Best Design Awards is an annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design in New Zealand.
At the awards dinner last Friday, &Co took out Gold for its innovative brand identity.
The crown seal had many restaurateurs initially scratching their heads as to how to serve the wine to customers, but so far the packaging has been a hit. The &Co sauvignon blanc is also due to be listed in top UK chain Selfridges.
