If you have persistent under-eye circles, your first step should be to get a doctor to check them out - shadows can be a sign of allergies or illness. But if you have worked out that they are nothing to worry about, or just a sign of too many big
nights, there are ways to get rid of them:
A good concealer is the most effective instant way to get rid of circles. Choose one with yellow tones to counteract blue or purple in your skin. Varieties that include caffeine improve circulation and can help stop shadows.
Use a good eye cream regularly - look for one that contains vitamin k and retinol, and as many antioxidants as possible.
Every night, slice cucumbers and place them over your eyes for 10 minutes. Alternatively, use tea bags - squeeze out the excess water to avoid stains around your eyes - the tannin reduces swelling and discolouration.
Cut down salt and increase the amount of leafy vegetables you eat. Drink lots of water.
Under-eye puffiness can be related to PMS. If you think yours is cyclic, use diuretics such as green tea during the time you are affected, to cut down water retention.
My picks: Maybelline Super Stay Concealer, Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-On.
