Rocked 10
4/5
Rocked 10 (as in 2010, not the sequel to Rocked 9, as far as I can tell) certainly lives up to the name on the lid.
Sure, some of the tracks, from the likes of Muse (Uprising) and Green Day (Last of the American Girls), are from 2009 albums,
but don't let that minor detail spoil your fun.
Twenty tracks from familiar and not-so-familiar names make for a solid 80 minutes of head nodding-if-not-banging entertainment that shows rock is still a force to be reckoned with in a pop/hip-hop/R&B-saturated culture.
Sadly, old favourites Stone Temple Pilots contribute one of the album's weaker moments (Between The Lines), while the best moments are, of course, the most powerful - Muse, Disturbed (Another Way To Die), 30 Seconds To Mars (Kings and Queens) and even Shihad in a nice return to form (Sleepeater).
Turn on, turn up, rock out.
