Hands All Over - Maroon 5
4/5
Maroon 5 fans may be surprised by the group's latest album, Hands All Over - it feels like a glimpse into the band's sensitive side. With their third album, Maroon 5 ventures away from up-tempo rock into pop with a far more mellow sound than previous albums such as It Won't Be Soon Before Long.
This is probably an album more suited for playing at home or in the car stereo rather than the dancefloor but the band does deliver its typical funky sound in tracks such as Misery and Stutter.
Never Gonna Leave this Bed is a personal favourite - it's a great song and does justice to gorgeous Adam Levine's gorgeous voice.
The title track of the album, Hands All Over, is sexy and funky and also hints at the band's previous album It Won't Be Soon Before Long.
How is a slow love song while Get Back In My Life picks up the pace and will set feet tapping and heads nodding.
Unexpected highlights include Out of Goodbyes - a ballad performed as a collaboration with Lady Antebellum - and a cover of A Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which rounds off an album that delivers more than just the expected from Maroon 5 and hints of more good things to come from the band.
