Kylie - Aphrodite
4/5
Here's something to make you feel old. Kylie is the only female artist to score a UK No1 album in four consecutive decades.
It seems like only yesterday Charlene and Scott were goofing around in RamsaySt.
Kylie has come a long way since the bubblegum pop of Locomotion and I Should Be So Lucky, but not a long way since her late-90s/early-2000s electropop princess sound.
Not that she's needed to. The synths and beats behind her songs are the pulse keeping the music exciting and the artist's career alive.
There's plenty here to like, from sumptuous opening single All The Lovers to the sassy Better Than Today and the album's best track Cupid Boy, which mixes a compelling guitar riff with a galloping bassline and a wash of synths.
At this rate, Kylie'll be the first to make it five decades on the trot.
