Do you want milk in your coffee? Wanda the Wandering Bovine waits for a flat white in Kerikeri. Photo / Sandy Myhre

Pedestrians on Kerikeri's main street are doing a double-take when they see a cow standing placidly outside a coffee shop.

She is called Wanda because she will, apparently, wander. Some suggest that's fishy but Wanda is part of a marketing campaign initiated by accounting and business advisers, Whitelaw Weber. She was purchased from Furniture City in Whangarei.

"We thought we might have to make one ourselves until we discovered you can buy these things," said marketing manager, Kirsty Grant.

"She's the price of a sofa or a dining suite and she doesn't leave a mess or smell."

One passer-by commented that he had the "real thing" up the road. Locals can download Wanda's wanderings on to Whitelaw Weber's Facebook page and go into a draw to win a prize.
