Anthony Simpkin of Guardian Property Management has created THE PROPERTY CENTRE in part of a block of shops at 72 Maunu Rd, attracting motorist attention during the refurb with "who do you think WE are?" signage (see photo), the brainchild of Whangarei firm Speedy Signage.
GPSis head tenant and shares the hub with Nick Godfrey's Award Building Services and Award Building Certification. Anthony Simpkin, owner/founder of GPS, said he chose the site because it was on a main route within the city and had plenty of free parking.
Another main attraction was that there were other complementary property-related businesses operating nearby. This meant property investors and home buyers could access a full range of services within a compact area. The centre will be the main GPS base with all tenancies administered by the Whangarei staff.
The company manages properties from Hikurangi through to South Auckland and Tauranga.
Award Building Services and Certification are a re-branding of Whangarei company Homepac NZ. The companies have expanded to add building, house inspection and council compliance contract work in Auckland to their Whangarei work, with four of the Whangarei-based staff working in Auckland during the week. The Property Centre opens on June 29.
New location
PARA RUBBER & STORAGE of Gumdigger Place in Southend is relocating to Porowini Avenue, opening on August 1. David Hickey says the new building is slightly larger, has its own large carpark and is closer to town, which many customers had said would be a good idea.
