The Classic Lash (one extension attached to a single natural lash) image which won Kim Grison first place in the open classic at the Australian and New Zealand 2016 Lash Championships.

Whangarei lash technician Kim Grison has won two firsts and a second in the Australian and New Zealand 2016 Lash Championships which were announced last week.

She won the open classic (one extension attached to a single natural lash) and was first equal in the creative section. Her second was in the Volume 2-3D (two or three extensions per single natural lash) section.

The four sections of the competition were: Classic, Volume, Super Volume and Creative. The entries are judged on accuracy, styling suitability for the eye, and safe application of the extensions to the lash.

Entrants were judged on high-resolution photos and Ms Grison used Whangarei models to display her lashes.

"There have been some bad technicians highlighted recently but this win is recognition of me as a safe technician as well a high standard of workmanship," she says.

She says she has been fully booked at her Whau Valley business since the announcement.

Ms Grison was the only Kiwi to win in the championships.
