No buyer has been found for the chain of Kooky Fashion stores that went into liquidation last month.
The liquidation of the chain, founded by former Whangarei woman Suzanne Lee Dunn (nee Sowry) and her husband, Jason Dunn, in 2004 is in the hands of Auckland firm Waterstone Insolvency.
The
14 stores have continued trading, selling stock at discounts of 50 per cent to 70 per cent.
Liquidator Damien Grant decided to keep the doors open while a buyer was being sought but no one has come forward. He said a final decision would be made regarding the chain before the end of this month.
Sowry was top design student at Kamo High School in the mid-1990s and won the Bernina Fashion Award. She graduated from the School of Design in Wellington in 2000 with a Bachelor of Design and founded Kooky four years later.
