Two Northland financial companies are offering a total of four scholarships to locals as part of the AMP Scholarships this year.

Rothbury Risk & Investment Services, of Northland, is offering the opportunity for someone to do their thing as part of the scholarships. The recipient will receive $10,000 to help develop their dream.

Bourke O'Connor, of Rothbury Risk & Investment Services, said that the company's philosophy in offering scholarships was to return something to the community.

The recipients of the AMP Dynamics Scholarship will receive $5000, $3000 and $2000 respectively to help develop their dreams. The finalists will be judged by a panel from the local community.

AMP Dynamics Financial Services said it prided itself on being a personable, friendly and professional business and was thrilled to offer scholarships to locals.

Shiree Neeley, of AMP Dynamics Financial Services, said it was the first year that the company had offered the three scholarships and it was honoured to be in a position to showcase Northland talent in such a manner.

"We are currently in the process of visiting local schools, sports clubs and business meetings to ensure that everyone in the community is aware of what is up for grabs," she said.
