Twenty-five Northland farms were sold in the three months to February 28 - 13 grazing properties, five dairy farms, four horticulture blocks and two special farms.
The Real Estate Institute median sales price per hectare for the four Northland dairy farms was $18,981, up on the $14,315 median in February
last year but well down on the $33,254 per hectare median for the 77 dairy farms sold nationally in the three months to February 28.
The $5611 median price per hectare for the 13 grazing farms was just over half of the $10,047 median per hectare for Northland grazing properties sold in February last year. The median price per hectare for the 169 grazing properies sold nationally to February 28 was $12,900.
The four Northland horticulture blocks sold had a median price per hectare of $55,868, only slightly down on the $62,015 median for January but well below the exceptionally high $400,000 median for Northland in February last year.
The two special farms sold in Northland had a median price per hectare of $105,933. The 16 special farms sold nationally in the three months to February 28 had a median price per hectare of $10,163, down from $31,817 in February last year.
