Accountants earn Xero thumbs up

BDO Northland is on a winning run.

The accounting, audit and business advisory service has been announced as the Xero Northland Accounting Partner of the Year for 2016 and one of its accountants, Kylie Harper, has been selected as Xero's Most Valued Professional.

Xero is a New Zealand-based software company that develops cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses.

Its managing director, Anna Curzon, says Kylie is a great example of an innovative forward-thinker.

"Kylie is a Xero superstar.

"She's embracing the future of accounting by leveraging the Xero platform to help small businesses and the accounting industry innovate and succeed."

The titles put BDO Northland, which has offices in Whangarei and Kerikeri, in the running for more awards at the major Xerocon South Awards in Brisbane in September this year.

BDO Northland partner Robyn Terlesk says Kylie has done outstanding work through giving free demonstrations of Xero and helping customers and other accountants with their questions.

BDO associate Tracey Glentworth has also developed and written Xero reporting templates for use by BDO offices nationwide, including agribusiness reports.
