Whanganui Police investigating car fire in Gonville

Police are investigating a car fire that occured in Gonville this morning.

Fire and Emergency was notified by numerous callers of smoke coming from a vehicle in Handley St near Carlton Ave just after 8am.

The fire was put out and the vehicle was left for police to investigate, a fire spokesperson said.

Police were notified shortly after and the circumstances are being followed up, a police spokeswoman said.
