Alice Boyd, Anna Bell Chung and Emmy Hucker wero to other schools to join their conference on the environment.
Palmerston North Girls' High EnviroGroup has put out the wero to other schools in the Manawatū to join them at their student-led conference on September 22.
Anna Bell Chung said they were holding the conference aptly named Wero, as an opportunity to challenge other schools and students to create tangible efforts towards caring for the environment.
EnviroGroup Year 13 students Anna Bell and Alice Boyd and Year 12 Emmy Hucker said they felt the need to establish the environmental conference since there was nothing similar around the Manawatū, especially for youth and teens.
"We want to use this as an opportunity to challenge the youth in the Manawatū community to think and live more environmentally aware.
"Wero is a fully youth-led conference and is designed for high school students in the Manawatū," said Anna Bell.
"We want this conference to inspire and promote ways in which youth can be more environmentally aware through small changes in their lifestyles.
"Our overall aim is to empower high school students to make positive changes to benefit the environment."
