When the province's top try-scorer, Shannan Chase, is on one wing and Magpies training squad member Matt Gordon is on the other, it's understandable.
A former provincial sevens representative in Fiji, Vuicakau has been in New Zealand 18 months. Last year, he played seven first class fixtures for Wairarapa Bush - four at centre, two on the wing and one at fullback.
"When I heard how strong Havelock North and Hawke's Bay was at sevens, I decided to come to the Bay," Vuicakau said.
"My goals are to play for Hawke's Bay at next year's national sevens and also for the New Zealand sevens team in the future. It would be good to make the Magpies at some stage, too," he said.
Vuicakau was a nationally ranked decathlete in Fiji but said there is little chance of him turning out in Hastings Athletics Club colours next summer.
"I'll be too focused on sevens trainings during the summer months," he explained.
When Vuicakau isn't training or playing, he can be found working as a labourer for Madden Construction, where his boss is former Magpies midfield back and Havelock North's backs coach Davis Norman. The physical nature of this job compliments his training.
Whether it gives him the opportunity to push for a starting berth in Saturday's top of the table match and Challenge Trophy clash against IMS Payroll Hastings Rugby and Sports at Elwood Park remains to be seen.
