Hawkes Bay deserved to retain the Ranfurly Shield with a convincing second defence led by halfback Chris Eaton and first five-eighths Ihaia West.

The Magpies are urging fans to come out in force tomorrow as they attempt to defend the Ranfurly Shield during the battle of the Bays.
