"Maddie was our player-of-the-match but goal keep Barbara Thompson and our 15-year-old Shyan Murphy weren't far behind in a game which wasn't decided until the final whistle," Marsh said.
"The fact three of our girls were on antibiotics with the flu made the win more pleasing," she added.
All In coach Charissa Barham said losing goal defence Brigitte Hollander with a knee injury in the second quarter was a major blow for her side as she was a key figure when her defenders were securing plenty of turnover ball.
"Our defensive structures are coming on nicely. We just need to be more accountable with our attacking possession in terms of variation and protection," Barham said.
Sonee-Lee Waerea enjoyed some strong patches in the wing defence and goal defence positions and Natalie Brown impressed Barham in both defensive circle roles.
The score was 9-all after the first quarter. All In led 17-16 at halftime and Outkast led 24-22 after the third quarter.
Outscoring Hastings Girls' High School Senior A 13-6 in the third quarter helped propel Napier Girls' High School to their 40-30 win.
"Yes it was a really good third quarter but the cool heads of Jaydi and Briana stood out for me for the entire game," NGHS coach Annemarie Kupa said, referring to New Zealand Maori Secondary Schools team defender Jaydi Taylor-Chaffey and New Zealand Secondary Schools midcourter Briana Stephenson.
"We should have won by 20 but our shooting stats were not as high as they should have been. In fact that was the case for both teams ... shooting was poor and defence strong."
Goal defence Liana Mikaele-Tu'u and goal keep Kathleen Nahora were an authorative pair for HGHS and goal attack Asher Grapes shone with her feeding.
HGHS coach Amanda Petera said her troops lacked the necessary confidence levels for the second consecutive week.
"We meet them again in the morning in a school fixture outdoors at the sports park. That 40-minute game might suits us better than these 60-minute ones," she added.
NGHS were ahead 9-6 after the first quarter, 19-14 at halftime and 32-20 at the start of the final quarter.
Shield round winners Otane Thirsty Whale maintained their unbeaten run for the season with a 52-29 drubbing of Central Sports Vet Services HB.
"We all came together as a team with our attacking end working just as hard as our defensive end," player-coach Tammy Kupa said.
Becky Kupa and Treyanna Faulkner ruled the midcourt and Kate Jefferd, Briar Chalmers and Alex Balhorn were rocks on defence.
However the win came at a cost with versatile defender Tajalee Stephenson taken to hospital with a possible season-ending knee injury.
Central co-captain and midcourter Anna Cudby said her side made it hard on themselves by not taking the easy options which were presented.
"We've got to work on reaching our targets and putting the ball in the right space before next week," she added.
Jessica Greig, who had stints at wing defence and goal attack, and defenders Bree White and Anna Parsons were Central's best.
HHSOG Proactive Huias earned bragging rights in their club with a 45-35 win against HHSOG Spicers Keas.
They trailed 11-7 after the first quarter but led 21-17 at halftime and 31-25 going into the final quarter.
Huias coach Rebecca Martin was pleased with her troops full court defensive effort. The experienced Lee-Anne Taylor shone in all aspects of play with shifts at goal attack, centre and wing defence.
Raewyn Parahi and Jade Waldin operated well in the defensive circle.
