“We had work-ons from the weekend prior and the boys were able to turn those into positives this weekend,” he said.
He was very happy with his team’s performance on how they worked well as a unit.
“Our forwards set a great platform all day and the backs complemented that by scoring some good tries, on top of our forward pack also getting over the line.
“I take my hat off to Ngatapa. They kept grinding for the whole 80 minutes. They never gave up, which showed when they scored at the end of each half.”

They put on 28 unanswered points in the first half with prop Papuni scoring two tries and fullback Tauatevalu two of his triple. Tauatevalu converted all four tries.
Ngatapa showed resilience and were rewarded for their efforts with an excellent team try finished off by centre Filimone Drua.
It was one-way traffic for much of the second half with winger Genesis Bartlett Tamatea, No.8 Stuart Leach picking up tries and Tauatevalu completing his hat-trick.
Tauatevalu kicked two conversions and Papuni put over the final conversion.
Gutsy Ngatapa first five Ricardo Patricio doubled their score with a fine kick and chase from in his own half. The ball bounced perfectly for him to regather and sprint away.
Most Valuable Player honours went to Tauatevalu and Ngatapa prop Jacob Storey.
