Yee wins Cossie Club’s?B Grade tourney

DAVID Yee won Gisborne Cosmopolitan Snooker Club’s B Grade competition last Saturday.

Yee continued his consistent form this year, beating Tiny Thompson two frames to nil in the final.

A field of 15 players produced good snooker.

Qualifying games were decided on a best-of-three-frames basis, with play in four sections.

Those to qualify were Yee, Thompson, Mike Neil, Bill Raggett, Frank Murphy, Nathan Coombs, Pang Yee and Simon White.

Yee, Raggett, Coombs and Thompson won through to the semifinals, where Yee defeated Raggett two frames to one, and Thompson defeated Coombs two frames to nil.

Upcoming events on the snooker calendar include the Cosmopolitan Club A and C grade competitions on Saturday, October 7.
