After losses on Sunday and Monday morning, Poverty Bay were going well in their Monday afternoon game against Northland at 60-0 after six overs when that game was called off.
Parkes said it would have been good to play all five of the scheduled matches but he was encouraged by aspects of their game when they did spend time on the park.
'I was pretty happy with the way the boys played,' Parkes said.
'Our bowlers did a fantastic job throughout the tournament.'
Poverty Bay 150-3 off 20 overs (Nic Hendrie 97, Thorn Parkes 32; David Hancock 3-20) lost to Waikato Valley 64-1 off eight overs (Dillon Kelliher 28 not out, Jake Gibson 24) under Duckworth-Lewis calculation.
