Waikohu (1) hoisted the Kathleen Henderson Memorial Shield at Victoria Domain on Saturday, breaking the winning run of defending champions YMP Whanau.

Both Claydens Waikohu (1) and YMP Whanau suffered a loss in their five games in the Sutherland Automotive-sponsored tournament.

However, Waikohu earned a bonus point because their loss to Gisborne Girls’ High School Senior A was within two goals, and that proved the difference.

YMP Whanau had won the tournament for the past three years.

Conditions were mainly sunny, apart from a couple of mid-morning showers.

High School Old Girls Mix won all their B Grade games to win the Patsy Burke Memorial Shield.

The C grade — and the Elizabeth Crawford Memorial Shield — went to Enterprise Cars OBM Blue, who had five wins and a draw.

Gisborne Girls’ High School Y9A picked up the Dawn Gallagher Shield as D Grade winners.
